Sense and Sensibility

It is not just the title of a novel by Jane Austen, but also our guideline for 2018.

Though the virtual world is getting nowadays the upper hand, we want to remain on the ground (just like in a botanical park) and reassess at best that practical experience which can be enjoyed by means of one’s senses.

The warmth of the sunny spaces, the coolness of the leafy shadows, the view on the lush vegetation, the scent of flowers, the taste of tropical fruits, the gushing stream of the water and the singing birds are phenomena that can be always appreciated at the Ravino Gardens.

Moreover, thanks to the forthcoming inauguration of our Sensory Garden, we hope to give a further boost to our offer.

New and long-lasting collaborations with artists and institutions will stimulate the visitors' attention in the exhibitions of the Moby Dick art gallery, whose name evokes a white cetacean maw, thus contributing to spur one’s imagination.

New culinary specialities and famous drinks will flatter one’s sense of taste at the Cactus Lounge Café, where exotic ingredients harmoniously match the traditional Mediterranean dishes.

Exclusive concerts including different kinds of music will touch the audience in the warm summer nights.

The 11^th MERISTEMA – now on October, 12^th – bearing the title In the Realm of the Senses will further stimulate meditation: Experienced experts and young scholars will debate also with the audience about sensoriality and its multifaceted aspects, including the one of pleasure.
